Bailout of “The Big 3”
Here is my opinion on the bailout of “The Big 3”…
F*ck “The big 3” - it’s what they get for continuing to make big gas-guzzling land monsters during a time when consumers want more from their vehicles. Clearly they learned nothing from the late ’70s and ’80s. Toyota, Honda and their associated brands seem to be fairing pretty well in the current economy.
“The Big 3s” own corporate arrogance is what is killing them. They assumed that with a more competitive global market offered through NAFTA and other “free trade” policies, that someone else would become victim to the “survival of the fittest”. They assumed that they would rake in the millions buying up cheaper steel, buying out smaller competitors and paying less for labor overseas. In their arrogance, they failed to adapt their products to the ever-changing consumer market and continued on with the “we tell the consumer what they want” attitude and marketing model. These companies became so huge, they detached from reality, and are suffering the consequences of not being the “fittest” auto makers in the industry.
Now they want my money to help them out!? Tough sh*t! You offered an inferior product causing dropping sales and that is what happens. Happens to thousands of small business owners year after year. LET THE BIG 3 FAIL! Death by process of the “Great American Way”!
